Education and Training
Education and supervision, specialized training, and 15 years of clinical experience have deepened my appreciation for the complexity of the human condition and informed my understanding about processes involved in moving towards meaningful, sustainable life changes.
I graduated with a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University and continued my education at University of Southern California, where I completed an internship, as well as at New York University, where I completed a postdoctoral fellowship. Within these educational environments, I provided individual, group, and couples psychotherapy, and received advanced training in eating disorder and trauma treatments.
My professional experience has occurred in multiple settings including university counseling centers, community mental health, medical facilities, crisis centers, and currently private practice. I have served in the capacity of Director of Clinical Services and Training Director, overseeing clinicians and supervisees in training. Across these wide-ranging contexts, I have helped individuals representing diverse cultural identities, histories, and life struggles.
I am a licensed Psychologist in the state of Arizona (PSY4436) by the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners. Additionally, I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist through the American Group Psychotherapy Association.
